marmosette:
Eva is actually several humans all trapped in one body. Her legs are actually made of excess brain. She only has one kidney, because she has a spare heart. The extra heart is actually black and charred, because she over-used it once. That’s a lie - she did it repeatedly, willfully, and with malice aforethought, and it burned out like a cheap lightbulb made of spam and put in a microwave by drunken cats on holiday in Australia.
People send Eva things to write, and because none of her brain-matter is actually in contact with reality, she doesn’t realise which of them are actually not possible, so she writes those too. She takes all of the most ridiculous ones and turns those into entire plausible worlds complete with layers of detail that make the real world seem dim. Her powers of world-creation are fractal.
There are also children that hover around Eva like crack-addicted moths around a binary star-system reflected in the entire output of the Swarovski factories. These children may be strays, or possibly their parents have been misplaced. One theory suggests that the children are in fact spores that Eva has released while sleeping, that have been nurtured and chewed through their restraints, breaking free of Eva’s hair and escaping into the wild. Science has not yet found a way to trap the for study, but investigations are ongoing.
Mostly, what Evas do is drink. This isn’t to say that they are normally drunk. Simply that the best observation times happen to be while Eva is inebriated. It is during these times that the most remarkable writing happens. Realistic suggestions are turned into the kind of bizarre, psychedelic hallucination that normal humans never experience. Single words become an entire civilization. There is an unpredictable amount of screaming, and bodies are often found by the side of the road days later, still unable to breathe.
Very little is known about the care and feeding of Eva. The excess brain seems to require radical amounts of caffeine and gummy bears. Alcohol seems to act as a kind of adrenaline, and may possibly be excreted in the form of text. Sleep appears to be entirely optional. Large numbers of rainbows go missing, and it is assumed that these are consumed as well, and possibly released as ice cream.
This is my story and I’m sticking to it.
